Anne+Dennis’ wedding in Idyllwild was the perfect culmination of the envisioning and planning of a dream day! I loved collaborating with Anne on the floral details. The inspiration came from her mom’s garden- which for me is such a sacred space and connection. I myself draw a lot of inspiration from my grandma’s and mom’s love of plants and flowers, so I understood!

Seeing florals adorning the woods at Tahquitz Pines Retreat was the biggest gratification after our hard work! The beautiful pastel colors came together almost symbiotically with the dark greens of the gigantic pine trees and the blue sky. We couldn’t have asked for a better location to showcase the garden style designs that included cultivars like zinnias, dahlias, ranunculus, scabiosa, delphinium and amaranth.

For Anne & Dennis’ ceremony, we adorned a wooden arch that Dennis built himself and that is now adorning their garden with a climbing jasmine! I love how much intention there was in bringing an elemental piece of their wedding to their garden as a celebratory reminder of their special day when they said “yes” to each other in front of all their loved ones, under the canopy of the trees and in the company of the flowers.

As we were determining the essential pieces of the design, Anne also shared that she dreamed of walking down the aisle under an arch of swords or something like grand like that and, even though we couldn’t provide the swordsmen and the swords, we were able to make a gorgeous broken arch with greenery garlands and aisle markers that received the guests and the couple on their grand entrance down the aisle.

We couldn’t have been happier of how the florals for their wedding turned out. Even Anne’s mom said they were beautiful (yay!!) and, on top of that, having Anne and Dennis taking time out of their special day to thank us in between sunset pictures was the cherry that topped our cake.
